The Hajj Gives Hope to Humanity
In this blessed season of Al-Hajj, we watch live millions of Muslims in Al-Masjid Al-Haram in the holy city of Makka performing the rites of Hajj. They come from all directions, and from far and near places; from all classes, races, all colors, cultures, glorifying God alone, declaring and affirming His Oneness in a very practical manner, in a very amazing phenomena not seen in any other place in the world.
Similarly, in the last 10 nights and days of the holy month of Ramadan, we watched live the Taraweeh prayers in Al-Masjid Al-Haram in the holy city of Makka, offered by millions Muslims from all over the world.
The Beauty of Islam
The sight of this gathering for the Hajj, and congregation prayers in Al-Masjid Al-Haram reveals the beauty of Islam. People gathered from almost every place in earth, motivated only by the desire to worship Allah, the True One God, alone. They are from all races, nationalities, colors; men and women, the old and young, and the low and elite. They all stand together humbling themselves before Allah; bow together before Him; prostrate together before Him.
A Powerful Sign of the Truthfulness of Islam
The sight of Al-Masjid Al-Haram in the holy city of Makka is a powerful sign of the Truthfulness of Islam. It is amazing to see all the barriers between people in it dissolved, and all the differences reconciled.
This beautiful sight, which is not seen in any other place in the world, is indeed a sign, or a miracle for all mankind, particularly the people of the book, that Islam is the truth from Allah, the True One God. It is a sign of the true faith which is able to unite humanity, dissolve the barriers and make them meaningless.
A Powerful Message
This sight we see in Makka is a powerful message that all people are equal before God in spite of their many differences. It
The wisdom of diversity of mankind is to create reasons for them to come together and know each other. Allah swt says: “O mankind, indeed We have created you from a male and a female and made you peoples and tribes that you may know one another. Indeed, the most noble of you in the sight of Allah is the most righteous of you. Indeed, Allah is Knowing and Acquainted.” Surat Al-Hujurat (49 -13)
A Hope for Humanity
This kind of unity is indeed what humanity is looking for, and hoping for; it is achieved before our own eyes. There is indeed a lesson in this for those who want to learn and understand.
It is indeed a miracle of Islam to tune the hearts of all those people regardless of the many factors that can divide them.
Rethink Islam
This annual occasion of Al-Hajj sends a powerful message to the non-Muslim peoples, particularly the learned Christians and Jews, to rethink Islam, and restudy the so many references in the Bible to Makkah, in the light of historical facts and present realities, maybe they would realize the truth of the Unity of God and turn to Him.
